Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (Eastern Medicine) has been around for 3,000 years while conventional medicine (Western Medicine) has existed for only a few hundred years. Chinese medicine is about nature. While Western medicine treats the symptoms of disease. Eastern medicine seeks and heals the cause of illness. This allows us to bring miracles everyday to our patients. Now enlightened Americans like you are discovering why Traditional Chinese Medicine is so helpful and healthy. Let us help you feel and look your best.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) uses meridian system theories, which allow doctors to see internal problems from the outside. This system simplifies the diagnosis and treatment process, each TCM doctor is a sensitive detector for your health condition, through Observation, Smelling, Asking, and Palpitation (pulse and body). They can quickly diagnosis the root cause of the conditions, and provide hands-on treatment right after. Thus, any acute and chronic condition can be resolved or improved quickly.

TCM does not rely on machine examination and lab test results to understand your present health state. In fact this systems enables detection of problems much earlier in most cases. It will identify both the root cause of disease and detail where it will go. This system provides a in depth knowledge on disease prevention. Knowing the course a pathological condition will take lets us prevent the disease from further developing. Any remedies used will help restore the body return to its natural state. Then the body will heal itself. It is said by great doctors that if the medicine is not able to cure it is due the doctor's lack of knowledge and understanding about the disease.

Advantages: The TCM therapeutic method is effective, simple, inexpensive, minimum of side-effects and non-invasive. At our clinic we have the support of a great team of experts in many areas both in the US and China. TCM traditionally aims to cure the conditions resulting in disease.

TCM Unique Diagnosis Methods: TCM uses four main methods to collecting data at the moment of seeing patients, and the diagnosis is obtained right way. The methods are observation (facial complexions, body shapes, energy states), smelling (body odors), asking (questions), and palpating (pulses). Any ailments of your body are considered as being out of balance from the healthy state. TCM doctors can catch the imbalance of the body through above examination. These unique diagnosis system is able to determine whether or not one person is out of their healthy state.

Early Sign and Disease Prevention: TCM system is able to catch the early signs of diseases’ development, if action of healing is taken, it can help to prevent a disease/a condition development. Remember, any abnormality can show on your body with a sign or signals. Experienced doctors can catch these signs and symptoms for you. This way, you can prevent a illness or disease of your body before any clinical symptom(s) shown on your lab test.

For example, a redder cheek is a sign of heart problem, a purplish patch or color deposition on your face indicating a bad blood circulation. Of cause, if one has some complaints such as neck shoulder stiffness, achy and soreness, or often have dizziness, headache, memory loss, insomnia, low spirit, lack of interests or motivation to everything, or often have loose stools, or sticky stools or no bowl movement in a few days, waking up around 3 am at night, dreaming a lot and so on, are the early signs of various healthy issues. If you can address these early signs you are currently experiencing before lab results, you will prevent years of bad health and help
prolong your life. One should put more focus on disease prevention rather than later on put lots of effort to treat a disease.

We can cultivate your family's health in a natural way: Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) theory is based on Yin-Yang Tai-Ji (Heaven-Human Unity, 天人合一) principles. At its core is a completed energy pictographic-field system, the meridian system. The human body is a complicated but organized system of circuits. Each person has their own constitution and their own energy state which reflecting with the state of environmental and emotional factors. In another word, each one has their unique conditions. Thus, TCM gives a treatment based on each individual’s condition. It is a personalized medicine system.

What Factors Affect Our Health?

Who we are ?

A human contains a physical body, energy, and spirit, existing at certain geographic location and time. Any of these five factors has a problem occurs that can cause a human illness or death.

A person can be sick in spirit, mind, or body at different time, seasons and/or geographic locations. The cosmic energy plays a great role in affecting the health of human bodies. A person has one state that is balanced, peaceful and energetic that we called a healthy state. Anything outside of this state is considered unhealthy.

Our logo depicts the factors that can influence human’s health, they are:

1) physical body (Jing): food and diet can impact physical skin muscle, tendon, bones, vessels and nervous system’ wellness. In TCM it refers to the wellness of the Qi, blood, Yin, Yang energies.

2) Energy (Qi) level: it refers to the emotional energies that impact to the health; TCM describes nine types of Qis disrupt normal QI and blood flow to affect the health, such as anger, over-joyfulness, sadness, worries, frighten, shock, anxious, heat and cold.

3) Spiritual believes or consciousness level: where the soul comes from, its past, its belief, energy, nature, etc. all affect one’s health.

4) Time: Time is the factor indicating the changing and transformation occurring to the health. Also, the energy changes of seasons can affect different part of the body. Aging itself changes, the health state different, and responding to the disease differently; a diseases progress involves time: when it occurred, what has it changed, and what is the possible prognoses in the future.

5) Geographic location: different location harvest different energy, cold, warm, dry, or dampness of the location can affect people’s health; also electro-magnetic field of the location can affect poeple’s health.

The root to keep a person in a good heath is the balance of the Yin and Yang of each dimension.

Dr. Joy Tianyun Wu, Ph.D., DAOM, L.Ac.

Dr. Wu has been practicing acupuncture and Chinese medicine since 2010. She is also an author of a few books.

<Yellow Emperor Internal Medicine> had appeared in the Warring State Period (475 BC-221 BC)
<The Yellow Emperor Internal Medicine> is one of the earliest books found in the corpus of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is considered as the bible of TCM. Nearly all academic thoughts of many well-known medical masters during the history of TCM have grown out of the theoretical system of this book. All the medical theories come from practice, and in turn direct practice.

How Long A Human Lives?

The first chapter of <Huang Di Nei Jing. Su
Wen> describes the differences of living
styles between his time and what he
called ancient time. Here is what he says:

Original text: “上古之人,其知道者,法于阴
阳,和于术数,食饮有节,起居有常,不妄
作劳,故能形与神俱,而尽终其天年,度百
岁乃去。”

Translation as: “People of the ancient time had
knowledge about the Tao of the healthy
living, they followed the Yin Yang’s
principle, used proper therapies, knew
how to control eating and drinking, lived
with a regular schedule and did not over
exhausting bodies. Thus, their bodies and
spirits were able to be completed and
connected, so that ancient people were
able to live to the human’s desired natural
age and were able to pass away after over 100 years
old. ” (Translated by Dr. Joy T. Wu)

Then in the book, the human’s life of this period of time at (475 BC-24AD) is portraited as:

Original Text :“今时之人不然也,以酒为浆,
以妄为常,醉以入房,以欲竭其精,以耗散
其真,不知持满,不时御神,务快其心,逆
于生乐,起居无节,故半百而衰也。”

Translation as: “Nowadays, however, people are totally different from ancient time. People believe fully indulging in one’s desires is okay. They drink alcohol like juice and have sex after getting drunk. They enjoy exhausting their bodies and wiping out their essence and true Qi. They can’t control their desires and don’t know how to nourish/cultivate spirit. They constantly seek quick pleasure. This living style is the reverse of the Tao, reverse of the true living and happiness. People has irregular life style and lacks discipline and control. That is why their bodies are already old when they only reach to the half of a hundred years of a man’s age”. (Translated by Dr. Joy T. Wu)

Dr. Wu’s comment: This description still applies to current modern life style. <Huang Di Nei Jing> provides the manual for human health, and life cultivation. To achieve longevity, man has to learn the skills and daily practice the wisdom of disease prevention and life-cultivation.
